Can I order books in?

-Absolutely! If there is a title we don't have in stock, most of the time, we can order the book for you. Our orders often arrive next day (Sundays excluded), so no reason to use certain online retailers for your speedy book purchases!

Do you offer work experience?

-Yes we do! However, we have filled all placements for 2026. It's a good idea to apply early if you are interested, as spaces fill up quickly. 

I need a bookseller for my event, can City Books help?

-In most cases, yes we can, provided your event is in the Brighton & Hove area, and further afield on occasion. Email us at info@city-books.co.uk to see if we can help. 

Do we host book launches?

-Yes we do! We tend to host launches on weekdays, after the shop has closed at 17:30. We provide the space, free of charge, and ask that you bring the guests and refreshments! We have a standing capacity of up to around 40 people. For more information, please contact us at info@city-books.co.uk

Do you sell second-hand and new books?

-We only sell new books! During the warmer months, we have a sale table outside.

Are dogs allowed?

-100% yes! (if they don't eat books!)
