City Books is an independent bookshop founded and run by Paul and Inge Sweetman. We pride ourselves in promoting old fashion values, whilst using the best of modern technology.

Our literary events provide a fantastic opportunity to hear authors present their new books. Forthcoming events include readings from Martin Rowson, Laurence Rees, Joan Bakewell and Alain de Botton. Tickets are available from City Books.

City Books stock a wide range of carefully selected books. Subjects include fiction, poetry, children's books, cookery, art, business and travel. We also stock an extensive range of local books.

We are open 9.30 to 6.00 Monday to Saturday, and 11.00 to 16.30 Sunday.
